Reclaiming the Divine Feminine:

A six-part course looking at the power of the perennial myths of the Goddess; their use and misuse. The Divine Feminine is hidden - and meant to be so, (secret and sacred have the same root) until we are ready for its profound depth. This is not a teaching to take lightly, but reverently. We look at the Great Mother’s incredible importance for the ecology of the planet, the origin of the Goddess Herself and her presence within the Judaeo-Christian tradition. There is magic in these stories… and there are fairies here too…

Part One: The Perennial Story.

The word ‘myth’ doesn’t mean something that is untrue; it means a traditional story which, in itself, may or may not be true but which carries a perennial wisdom at its core. We look at myths of the early history of the Goddess throughout the ages and their value to us today.

Part Two: The Myths of Creation.

Within the myths are patterns of creation which evolve and change according to social beliefs. In this episode we look at how and why the Goddess-created practice of ‘the honourable harvest’ was overcome by the patriarchal system and what we can learn from that loss today.

Part Three: The Lady in the Temple.

The First Temple of the Hebrews acknowledged—even worshipped—the Divine Feminine. This is the story of those times and of the purge which expelled her into the wilderness. She is still present to anyone who seeks her with a clear heart.

Part Four: The Divine Feminine in the Hebrew Testament.

When you know, you know… it is easy to find the Divine Feminine when you look at the stories of the Biblical heroines, including Deborah, Hannah and Jael. They don’t fit the social rules of the day and their actions are totally effective without requiring fame or fortune. Through them, we learn the power of a clear, concise ‘no,’ of how to pray and when to act…

Part Five: Benot Elohim – the Marys and Esther.

Three Biblical women in particular carry the essence of the Divine Feminine. Mary, mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene are the best known and the Book of Esther in the Hebrew Testament gives us a clear pathway to how to draw this powerful energy into ourselves. The Divine Feminine is a strategist, not a warrior—and oh boy, is She effective!

Part Six: Ecology and the Divine Feminine.

This is the work we need to do to help Planet Earth; honouring the elementals, understanding the power of ‘no’ and allowing ourselves to perceive that feminine autonomy over death and life which is still a healing and life-affirming lore.
